Hair Transplant Procedure

The Hair Transplant Procedure is a surgical technique designed to address hair loss and baldness. One of the most common methods employed is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). During the FUE procedure, individual hair follicles are meticulously extracted from the donor area, typically located at the back or sides of the scalp.

Initial Consultation

  • The patient meets with the hair transplant surgeon to discuss their hairloss goals, medical history, and the procedure. The surgeon will assess the patient’s hair lossand explain the hair transplant process, including the estimated number of follicles anddrawing the front hairline after approval.

Preparation

  • One day before the surgery, the patient undergoes blood tests to checkinformation about the person’s blood sugar levels, blood pressure, infections, or other healthproblems. On the day of the surgery, the patient’s scalp is cleaned and a local anesthetic is applied tonumb the area. This ensures the patient is comfortable during the procedure.

Extraction

  • Individual hair follicles are removed from the donor site (usually the back orsides of the scalp) using micro motor extraction. The extracted hair follicles are kept in a solution to preserve their viability.

Preparation of Recipient Site

  • The surgeon makes tiny incisions in the recipient site (thearea where the hair will be transplanted). The angle, depth, and distribution of the incisionsare carefully planned to ensure a natural-looking result.

Transplantation

The surgeon places the extracted hair follicles into the recipient site, one byone. This is a delicate and time-consuming process that requires precision and skill.

Post-Surgery Care

  • After the surgery, the patient is given a care pack and instructions on how to care for their scalp and newly transplanted hair. This may include avoiding strenuousactivity, keeping the scalp clean, and taking prescribed medications.
