VASER is a form of ultrasound-assisted liposuction. It uses energy to help disrupt fat before suction, but it remains surgery and does not guarantee tighter skin, a specific amount of fat removal or a sculpted result.
What VASER liposuction is designed to address
Small incisions allow fluid infiltration, ultrasound-assisted fat treatment and suction. The quality of contour depends on anatomy, skin elasticity, technique and healing more than on a device name alone.
Who may consider it
Healthy adults with localised fat and reasonably elastic skin may be assessed. It is not an obesity treatment, and loose skin, visceral fat or major weight fluctuation may require another strategy.
A decision should follow a face-to-face examination, a review of medical history and a realistic conversation about alternatives. Photographs, measurements or imaging may be used when they genuinely help the clinical plan.
Planning a safe, personal treatment
Your surgeon should assess anatomy, skin quality, previous procedures, medicines, smoking or nicotine exposure and any condition that could affect anaesthesia or healing. The agreed plan should define the intended change while preserving function and proportion.

Recovery and follow-up
Swelling, bruising, tightness and temporary changes in sensation are common after many aesthetic operations. Activity limits and return-to-work timing depend on the extent of surgery; swelling often settles gradually rather than on a single fixed day.
Individual recovery varies. Written aftercare instructions take priority over general timelines, and new severe pain, breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, fever or another unexpected symptom should be reported promptly to the treating team.
Risks and limitations to understand
In addition to standard liposuction risks, energy-assisted treatment can cause heat-related injury if not used appropriately. Fluid balance and the total treated area also matter.
- Contour irregularity, asymmetry, persistent swelling or numbness
